Sebang Global Battery has been making batteries in Korea since 1952. You will rarely see the company name on the product. The car batteries are sold as Rocket, a brand that has been around for more than half a century and is exported to over 130 countries according to the company. Sebang has had a technical alliance with the Japanese maker Yuasa since the 1970s, and it builds everything from small car batteries to units for forklifts and golf carts.
Rocket batteries are common in Gulf workshops for a simple reason: they cover the Asian case sizes that most cars here use, and they stand up to working life. A car that does long hours, such as a delivery run or ride-hailing shifts around the Marina and JLT, needs a battery that tolerates constant restarts and a hot engine bay. Sebang batteries: common questions
I asked for Sebang. Why does the battery say Rocket?
Rocket is Sebang's brand name for its batteries. Sebang Global Battery is the manufacturer and Rocket is what is printed large on the case. They are the same product. The manufacturer's name appears in the smaller print on the label.
What is the small round window on top of my Rocket battery?
Many sealed batteries, including many Rocket SMF sizes, have a charge indicator. It shows the state of one cell only, so treat it as a rough guide. A proper test with a battery tester reads the whole battery, and we do that before recommending a replacement.
My car works long shifts in traffic. Is a Rocket up to it?
A sealed Rocket SMF is a sound choice for a conventional car in heavy city use, and EFB is a step up if the car restarts constantly. High mileage in heat still shortens battery life, so have it tested every few months. The test takes minutes and is done where the car is parked.
