Lexus shares its engineering with Toyota, so the battery side is dependable and rarely complicated. Petrol models take a JIS-size battery under the bonnet and need no registration. What sets a Lexus apart is how much it remembers: seat and steering positions, mirror angles, navigation favourites and audio settings. Losing power wipes some of these and can disable one-touch windows, so a memory saver is connected before the old battery is lifted out.
Hybrid Lexus models are everywhere in Dubai, the ES 300h in particular as a chauffeur car. Their 12V auxiliary battery is small because it does not crank an engine. It only boots the electronics. When it fails the car will not go into Ready mode, which drivers often mistake for a hybrid pack fault. On several models it sits in the boot and is vented to the outside, so the replacement must have the same vent fitting.
