Emergency fuel delivery: common questions
What if I put the wrong fuel in?
Do not start the engine, and do not switch the ignition on if you can avoid it, because that runs the pump. Adding the right fuel on top will not fix it. The tank has to be drained, so the car is recovered to the workshop for that.
The car has fuel now but still will not start. What next?
Running dry can pull air into the lines, and repeated cranking can flatten the battery. The technician primes the system and can jump start the car. If it still does not fire, the fuel pump or filter may have failed and the car is recovered to the workshop.
How much fuel is delivered?
Enough to restart the car and reach a station with some margin, not a full tank. If you are far from a station or the car has a large engine, say so when you book and more is brought.
