The automotive side has changed hands since and now belongs to Clarios, a large battery group that also supplies car factories directly. Varta is known for its start-stop batteries. The Silver Dynamic AGM and Blue Dynamic EFB lines use the same technology many European cars leave the production line with, which makes matching a replacement straightforward.

Varta batteries: common questions
My Mercedes has start-stop. Does it have to be a Varta AGM?
It has to be AGM if it left the factory with AGM, but not necessarily Varta. Fitting a standard flooded battery to an AGM car usually leads to start-stop faults and an early failure. Varta Silver Dynamic AGM is a common like-for-like choice, and we carry other AGM brands too.
Does a new Varta battery need to be registered to my BMW or Audi?
On many BMW, Audi, Mini and Volkswagen models, yes. The car's charging system keeps a record of the battery's age and type, so the new one should be registered with a diagnostic tool. Tell us the model and year on WhatsApp so the technician arrives prepared.
Is the Varta you fit the same as the battery my car came with?
