Solite is the battery brand of Hyundai Sungwoo Solite, a Korean manufacturer established in 1979. The company supplies batteries to car makers as well as to the replacement market, with Hyundai and Kia among its customers. Its core product is the CMF battery, short for complete maintenance-free: a sealed calcium battery that needs no topping up. EFB and AGM versions were added for cars with idle stop and go, which is what Korean makers call start-stop.
Korean batteries have a long record in the Gulf because Korean cars do. A Solite CMF of the right size drops straight into an Elantra, Sportage or Tucson with no adapter or tray change, and the same is true for most Japanese saloons. It is a sensible pick for the car that does daily duty: school, the office in Media City, shopping, home. Expect the usual Dubai lifespan, and choose the AGM version if your car has idle stop and go.

Is Solite the battery my Hyundai or Kia came with?
It may be. Hyundai and Kia source factory batteries from several Korean manufacturers, and Solite is one of them. The label on the original battery tells you which. Either way, a Solite of the same size and type is a close match for what the car was designed around.
What does CMF mean on a Solite battery?
CMF stands for complete maintenance-free. The battery is sealed, uses calcium alloy plates that lose very little water, and never needs topping up. It is the standard type for cars without start-stop. Cars with idle stop and go need the EFB or AGM version instead.
Will a Solite fit my Toyota or Nissan?
