1. Who we are
JBR Battery is a mobile car battery testing, jump start and replacement service based in Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR), Dubai, United Arab Emirates. We also arrange other garage services through partner workshops and recovery operators.
JBR Battery decides how and why the personal information described in this policy is used, which makes us the controller of that information under UAE law. You can reach us by phone or WhatsApp using the numbers shown on this website.
2. Information you give us when you get in touch
This website has no customer accounts, no forms, no checkout and no online payment. You contact us by tapping a WhatsApp link, which opens WhatsApp, or a phone link, which starts a call. We only receive information from you once you send a message or call.
Depending on the job, we may receive:
- Your name, phone number and WhatsApp profile name.
- Your car's make, model and year, and photos of the battery label if you send them.
- Where the car is parked, such as the tower, parking level and bay number, or a live location you choose to share.
- The messages you send us and the details you give us on a call.
- Details of the job we carry out, such as the test result, the battery fitted, the invoice and the warranty period.
3. Payment information
Payment is taken in person when the job is finished, by cash or card. We do not store card numbers. Card payments are handled by the card payment provider whose terminal we use.
If you choose to split the payment through Tabby or Tamara, you deal with them directly. They run their own checks and handle your information under their own terms and privacy policies. We keep a record of the amount paid, the payment method and the invoice.
4. Information collected automatically on the website
Like most websites, ours is delivered by a hosting provider that logs standard server data: your IP address, your browser and device type (user agent) and the pages requested. These logs are used to keep the website running and secure.
Some parts of a page are loaded from other providers, and each of them receives your IP address as part of serving the file. Map tiles are loaded from OpenStreetMap, and car images come from an image delivery network, Cloudinary. The fonts are hosted on our own website.
If measurement and advertising tools are switched on, they also collect usage information through cookies and similar identifiers, as explained in the cookies section below.
5. Why we use your information
UAE law generally requires your consent before personal information is used. There are exceptions, which include using information to carry out a service you asked for and to meet obligations set by law. If we ever want to use your information for a purpose not listed here, we will tell you first and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
We use personal information for these purposes:
- To provide the service you asked for: giving a quote, finding your car, testing or replacing the battery, and arranging garage or recovery work. We need this information to carry out your request.
- To honour the warranty, by matching a later claim to the battery we fitted and the invoice we issued.
- To keep the invoices and accounting records that UAE law requires a business to keep.
- To answer your questions and deal with complaints.
- To keep the website working and secure, using the hosting provider's server logs.
- To understand how the website is used, improve it and measure our advertising, with your consent where the law requires it.
6. Cookies, analytics and advertising
This website may use Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, and Google Ads conversion tracking and remarketing. These tools run only if we have switched them on. They place cookies or use similar identifiers on your device to record visits and actions on the website, including taps on the WhatsApp and call buttons, which are counted as conversion events.
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and other websites. This allows our ads to be shown to you on Google and on other sites, and lets us measure how our advertising performs. Google explains how it uses this information at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
The reports we see from these tools are statistics and event counts. They do not show us your name or your messages. You can opt out in any of these ways:
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. You can still read the website and contact us.
- Turn off personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings or My Ad Center at myadcenter.google.com.
- Install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on from tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
- Tell us that you withdraw your consent, by phone or WhatsApp using the numbers shown on this website.
7. Who we share your information with
We share personal information only with those who need it to deliver the service or run the website. We never sell your personal information.
- The technician sent to your car, who receives your name, number, car details and location.
- Partner workshops and recovery operators, when you ask for a garage, towing or recovery service that they carry out. They receive the same details so they can do the job.
- Payment providers: the card processor for card payments, and Tabby or Tamara if you choose to split the payment.
- Meta, which operates WhatsApp, when you message us there. Your use of WhatsApp is covered by WhatsApp's own terms and privacy policy.
- Google, for the analytics and advertising tools described above, when they are switched on.
- Our hosting provider, OpenStreetMap and Cloudinary, which receive technical data such as your IP address when they deliver the website, map tiles and images.
- Authorities, courts or professional advisers, where the law requires it or where it is needed to establish or defend a legal claim.
8. Transfers outside the UAE
Some of the providers named above, including Meta, Google, Cloudinary, OpenStreetMap, our hosting provider and the payment providers, may store or process information on servers outside the United Arab Emirates.
We pass on only what is needed for the purpose. Where UAE law sets conditions for transferring personal information abroad, we apply them. The providers' own privacy policies explain where and how they handle information.
9. How long we keep it
We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected for. After that we delete it or make it anonymous, unless the law requires us to keep it for longer.
- Job and warranty records, including the invoice, are kept for the warranty period shown on your invoice, which is up to 24 months depending on the battery, and then for as long as the law requires accounting records to be kept.
- WhatsApp messages and call details that are no longer needed for a job, a warranty or a legal record are cleared periodically.
- Analytics and advertising data is held by Google for the retention periods set in those tools.
- Server logs are held by the hosting provider for the period that provider sets.
10. How we protect your information
We limit access to customer details to the people who need them for the job: our staff, the technician and, where relevant, the partner carrying out the work. We ask only for the details a job needs, and we do not store card numbers.
No method of sending or storing information is completely secure, and we cannot promise absolute security. If we become aware of a breach that puts your information at risk, we will act as UAE law requires, which can include informing you and the UAE Data Office.
11. Your rights under UAE law
Under the UAE Personal Data Protection Law you have rights over your personal information, subject to the conditions and exceptions in that law:
- Access: ask what personal information we hold about you and ask for a copy.
- Correction: ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete.
- Deletion: ask us to delete your information where we no longer need it or have no lawful reason to keep it.
- Objection and restriction: ask us to stop or limit how we use your information, including for direct marketing.
- Withdrawal of consent: withdraw a consent you have given at any time. This does not affect what was done before you withdrew it.
- Complaint: complain to the UAE Data Office if you believe your information has been handled in breach of the law.
12. How to use your rights
To use any of these rights, contact us by phone or WhatsApp using the numbers shown on this website. We may ask for enough detail to confirm that the request comes from you, for example by replying from the number you originally used. We will answer within the time the law allows.
Some information cannot be deleted on request, such as invoices that we must keep for accounting purposes. If that applies to your request, we will explain why.
13. Children
Our service is for adults who own or drive a car. This website is not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it where the law allows.
14. Links to other websites and services
This website links to services run by other companies, such as WhatsApp, and mentions others, such as Tabby and Tamara. We are not responsible for how those services handle your information. Please read their privacy policies before you use them.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our service, the tools we use or the law changes. The date shown on this page tells you when it was last revised. If a change significantly affects how we use your information, we will make that clear on this website.
16. Contact us
For any question about this policy or about your personal information, contact JBR Battery by phone or WhatsApp using the numbers shown on this website. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can raise the matter with the UAE Data Office.
