About the e:Ny1's battery

What applies to every Honda
Honda has long fitted batteries that are small for the size of the car. A Civic, City or Jazz battery is light and compact, which is fine for an efficient engine but leaves little in reserve. Leave the lights on or listen to the radio for an hour with the engine off and it may not start. In Dubai that small battery also has less margin against heat, so testing it once a year makes sense.
Two things are particular to Honda. Older models lock the radio after a power loss and ask for a code, and the engine may idle unevenly until the computer relearns. A memory saver connected before the swap prevents both. Newer Accord, Civic and CR-V models have a battery sensor on the negative terminal that is refitted as found. Where idle stop is fitted, the replacement must be the same start-stop type as the original.

How long does it take to change a Honda e:Ny1 battery?
About 20 to 30 minutes once the technician is at the car. Add a few minutes if the battery sits in the boot or under a seat, or if the new one has to be registered to the car.
Will I lose my radio and seat settings?

Will my Honda ask for a radio code after the battery is changed?

My Honda idles roughly after a new battery. Is that normal?
It can be, if power was lost during the swap. The engine computer forgets its idle settings and relearns them. Let the engine warm up and idle for about ten minutes with the AC and lights off, then drive normally. If it does not settle, have it checked.
