That unit needs to know when a new battery is fitted, along with its capacity and type, and the entry is made with a diagnostic tool. An EFB battery can be replaced by EFB or upgraded to AGM, but never downgraded to a standard type. Simple older models without start-stop skip the coding. Should a start-stop Volkswagen get an EFB or an AGM battery?
Fit at least what the car was built with. If the original is EFB, another EFB is correct, and AGM is an acceptable step up if the car is coded for it. If the original is AGM, stay with AGM. A standard flooded battery is the wrong choice for either.
